New distributor/manufacturer for Europe

It is with great pride and excitement that Zuckermann Harpsichords International has chosen a new distributor/manufacturer for Europe. Richard Auber, owner of Zuckermann, has recently signed a trademark-licensing deal with Guido Bizzi of Bizzi Clavicembali. Guido and his charming wife Luisa are already well-known in Europe and around the world for their harpsichords and devotion to the field of early music. They live with their two talented sons in picturesque Sumirago, Italy.

Although many builders expressed their desire to represent Zuckermann Harpsichords and offer our world-famous kits, it was easy to find synergy in a Bizzi/Zuckermann collaboration, especially considering Bizzi's background in early music performance, business and the industrial arts. Bizzi, after earning a PhD degree in mechanical engineering at Turin Polytechnic, decided to pursue both the artistic and managerial fields. On the musical side he performed for many years in a baroque ensemble singing and playing Renaissance instruments--many of which he manufactured himself. His baroque ensemble has performed extensively in Italy and abroad to the acclaim of world-renowned critics.

Earlier in his career as an entrepreneur, he started a company specializing in the design and construction of factories for the production of steel wire and cable. This firm founded by Bizzi is still a world leader in the field. His profound knowledge of the processes of wire drawing -- including so-called music wire -- together with his corresponding artistic experience, led him to decide to tackle the consummate project of harpsichord production. Thus was born Bizzi Clavicembali. We look forward to sharing our respective knowledge and experience resulting in fine instruments and superior service for our customers in Europe.
