ZHI Flemish Single-Manual Harpsichord

This beautiful instrument was built by our late associate and friend John V. Thompson (5/13/1932 - 2/18/2012) of Danville, KY. John built a number of instruments from Zuckermann parts. Always a source of knowledge and inspiration he is sorely missed. We undertook the completion of John's instrument posthumously. The result is quite good.

In our video (click below) the instrument is played by Elena Zamolodchikova, harpsichordist. The music is from the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, two pieces by William Byrd — la Volta and Allemand.
