June 2008 Workshop: Spouses and Others

Stonington is the home of Zuckermann Harpsichords International, and a more perfect setting for building beautiful keyboard instruments could not be found. Chartered in 1801, the Borough of Stonington is noted for its Colonial, Federal and Greek revival architecture. Originally settled by Portuguese fishermen, fishing is still part of its heritage.

For spouses and others accompanying workshop attendees, you'll love Stonington's restaurants, antique shops, gift shops, galleries and charming boutiques. Golf courses and casinos are all within an easy 20-minute drive from the Borough. Take a moment to walk down to the water's edge on a bright, sunny morning and gaze out at the sailing craft that dot Long Island Sound. Or walk down to the Point and visit the Old Lighthouse Museum. Or take a drive down to the famous Mystic Seaport, a living museum of the sea and a ship-lover's dream. Of course, accompanying spouses are welcome to register for any of the concerts/receptions, the closing concert and dinner, and any other of the workshop's activities.
